The Big Five Animals Safari

The big five animals refer to the leopard, lion, rhino, elephant and the buffalo. There are, however, other big animals which are not included in the list of the big five, for instance the cheetah, zebra, hippos and the giraffe. The big five was introduced by the early hunters for certain reasons. These animals are very hard to hunt, they are very dangerous when shot at or cornered. The leopard is a very shy animal and you will not often spot it compared to other wild animals. The population of the black rhino has decreased over the years and although the tour operators will guarantee you to see all the big five, you will actually see the white rhino instead.

There so many parks and game reserves where you can have your safari and spot all the big five including other wild animals.
